In theory, then if a certain event always surprises you, then it would cease to be a surprise, because you'd expect to be surprised, right? So if teaching my class always surprises me, then that fact should stop surprising me.


That might work in theory, but it's not how it works in real life.


I'm tempted to end this entry by quoting murder on the dancefloor by Sophie Ellis Bextor, because I heard it five minutes ago from some radio and so it's what's in my head... but I don't even know what the words are, so I don't think I can, really.
